This past week Port Baseball improved their record to 2-6 splitting a 2 game set with Syosset. The boys fought hard in the both games but the offense came at the right time in game 2 • On Monday, the Vikings gave up a run in the opening frame but answered right back with an RBI single off the bat of Danny Alexander. Unfortunately that is all the offense did as they lost 2-1 while Christian Schwirzbin went 6IP, 1ER, and 6Ks “ Wednesday, again got off to a slow start as Syosset put up 2 in the first inning but this time the Vikings had a response putting up an 8 spot in the second inning. After a rough first inning it was smooth sailing for the starter Michael Andrew as he struck out the side in order in the third and went 4IP, 2ER, and 6Ks. Will Chu then came in relief throwing 3 scoreless innings on 2 unearned runs.
