This week, Port Baseball was able to bounce back and defeat Oceanside for their first win of the year! They would go 1-2 on the week, bringing their record to 1-5 for the year. • On Monday, the boys traveled to Oceanside to try avenge their defeat at home the previous Friday. Christian Schwirzbin would start the game on the mound, pitching 4.2 innings and only allowing one run. At the plate, he would go 1 for 3 with a 2-run home run, his first of the year! Ryan Gawley added 3 hits and 1 run, and Chris Caprariello had 2 hits and pitched 2.1 shutout innings to close out the 6-1 win. • Tuesday’s game in Farmingdale got off to a rough start, as the Vikings were down 3-0 early on. Michael Andrew would keep it within striking distance, pitching 3 shutout innings in relief.
