REWRITING HISTORY ‼️🏆🏅 Jasmin Paris, a 40-year-old ultrarunner, veterinarian, and mother-of-two, became the first woman to finish one of the world’s hardest ultramarathons: the Barkley Marathons in Tennessee. Paris completed the 100-mile event (yep, you read that right) just one minute 39 seconds before the 60-hour cut-off point. 👏 If you haven’t heard of the Barkley Marathons, it’s a course that changes every year and covers five loops of 20 miles that total 100 miles. It involves 60,000ft of climb and descent – around twice the height of Mount Everest. 🗻 Only 35 participants are allowed to compete in the race each year, and just 20 have completed the race within the allotted 60 hours since it was extended to 100 miles in 1989.
