Watch a massive fail turn into quite the success!! An EGGcelent Easter experiment. 🥚☺️ When the water is hot it can hold more borax, but as the water cools, it can’t hold as much. That borax exits the supersaturated solution and binds together into beautiful crystals. By placing the borax powder onto your egg, you give the borax something to latch onto. Those are your seed crystals! Why didn’t the plastic eggs work? I suspect they are simply too smooth. It may have been harder for the borax to stay attached to them and so instead the crystals formed everywhere else in the glass.
