I went to the moon (😱)! And you can too 😉 I’m in The Futures exhibit at the smithsonianaib with meta testing out a new technology called Photogrammetry. That’s a mouthful but it’s essentially a way to create a 3D experience using 2D images. And because of photogrammetry I was able to feel like I was STANDING on the moon. Like I was really there 😭🥹. The moon buggy! The lunar lander! Craters! Lunar regolith! It all felt so real and it was created using 2D Apollo images!! I’m telling you, I literally had chills. I can’t believe technology can transport the mind in this way. This same 2D ➡️3D technology is used to help map and record coral reef ecosystems and even Native American cave art. It’s a better way to have a precise understanding of our world and how it’s changing. AND imagine how this could impact the FUTURE of learning.
