Why does a balloon🎈over a flame 🔥 pop 💥, but a balloon with a little bit of water💧in it...doesn't?⁣ ⁣ 🌬️🎈+🔥=💥⁣ 💧🎈+🔥=🎈⁣ ⁣ It's all about the heat capacity of water. You know how water takes FOEVA to boil on the stove? That's because it has a high heat capacity, which means that it takes a lot of energy to raise its temperature.⁣ ⁣ Essentially - it *absorbs* heat (aka ENERGY) really well. So before, the energy was all directed into the latex, which created a weak point in the balloon.
