Visited my friends at madeinspaceinc today for my show! We're featuring my friend, max_fagin who is an aspiring Mars Astronaut and Made in Space engineer working on Archinaut One.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ 🛰️ Archinaut One is a satellite slated to launch in 2020. It is designed to build (3d print), assemble and deploy it's on solar ray (AKA basically grow wings in space)👐🏻⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ 🤔 why would you want to do this? Well, today if you need something in space you need to launch it from Earth. If you want to launch it, it needs to be designed to fit in a rocket AND be able to survive a rocket launch. That's a lot of design restraints not related to operations. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ 💡SO - being able to 3d print something in space certainly has its benefits.
