West Virginia gets 93% of our state's electricity from coal, but there's no reason this has to be the case. Allowing solar power in WV would be amazing for 2 reasons. (1) some of the best companies in the world have set sustainably goals to run their operations on clean energy. *93%* of your state's electricity comes from fossil fuels? Welp, those companies are going elsewhere. (2) we have the land to do it!! A 2017 analysis showed that WV has 219 square mines of degraded land - that isn't being used for anything now - but would be great for large scale solar energy production.
Let's help bring thousands of new jobs to WV with solar. ☀️💙💛
