Did you know… The skin on the bottoms of your feet is home to thousands of sensory nerve endings?
They send messages to your brain about the environment you walk in- deep pressure, sharp/dull, hot/cold, stretch, and vibration.
Your brain then sends messages back to your muscles to react instantly to your environment. Or at least, that’s what *should* happen.
Highly cushioned shoes and soft socks decrease the accuracy of the signals so we perceive the ground differently. This could potentially lead to injury or dysfunctional movement patterns.
It’s important to stimulate the bottoms of your feet and train these signals and reactions!
So walk barefoot at home…
Train barefoot sometimes…
Maybe skip a little (because it’s fun)…
Use your Naboso mat and Neuro Ball…
And optimize your neuromuscular system!”
