We love how rootedinmvmnt is using the Kinesis Board for rehab! Read what he has to say about the importance of sensory stimulation in rehabilitation.
”Sensory stimulation is a key component in rehabilitation. This is especially true when internal stability of the joint has been compromised post ACL injury and reconstruction. Yes, we need to physically strengthen the dynamic stabilizers around the knee and hip. BUT, an often neglected component is the sensory stimulation necessary to feed nutritious information to the brain that tells the body how to move. This how we build proprioception (or knowing where your joint is at in space)
Following injury, the brains image of the joint becomes fuzzy and unclear. In order to sharpen the image, we need to stimulate the sensory receptors on the bottom of the foot, which is why I have chosen to utilize the Kinesis Board from naboso_technology with this client 7 weeks out from ACL reconstruction. Not fully recovering this joint position...
