#MeetTheTeam Keith Vickers, a big-hearted identity who is well known in the Central Districts, has been around horses all his life. For Keith horses are his passion and he loves the animal. But he also has a mechanical mind - tinkering with tools and hydraulics. He has ridden trackwork for top trainers including Wally McEwan, Bruce Cowan, and Stu Dromgool, and worked for Noel Eales and Roydon Bergerson as a stable hand. He has also driven floats for Majestic, and now he manages the Awapuni-based horse ambulance. Keith covers the CD from Hastings to New Plymouth and down to Trentham, and each season will attend around 115 race days or trials. The Trust is privileged to have an operator as experienced as Keith in handling horses and with his mechanical know-how. Keith lives in rural Palmerston North with his wife, Janine and has a 25-year-old daughter. He is a bit of a silent achiever, representing the region in darts. 🎯 Welcome to the team, Keith!
