Necessity is the mother of invention, and Barry Armour - engineer and inventor - has spent the best part of ten years perfecting NZ's state-of-the-art equine ambulance.
From an idea in 2010 of how to better deal with race-day injuries to the deployment of nine horse ambulances, it is Kiwi ingenuity at its finest.
Barry designed a walk-in/walk-out diagonal crush configuration with an innovative two-point hydraulic lowering system that is state-of-the-art in large animal rescue.
In fact Barry's design is sought after by racing bodies across the world, recently fulfilling an order from Canada. More on that soon.
We would not be where we are today without Barry and the team at T L MacLean Limited in Mosgiel. Thanks for all of your great mahi, team!
