We received a lovely message from the owner of Keisha, a well-bred standardbred filly who sustained a serious injury mid-race at Addington Raceway prior to lockdown.
"I would like to say that I was very impressed with the whole service the team from the NZ Horse Ambulance Trust provided; from the efficient way of getting her from Addington Raceway to the Canterbury Equine Clinic, and subsequently transporting her to the agistment farm.
I have no doubt that without this excellent service the outcome for Keisha could have been very different.
Also I was very appreciative of the communications from Laurence Hanrahan regarding the transportation arrangements."
Keisha is now at an agistment farm for six weeks of box-rest and will then be perfectly sound. Her owner has decided her future is as a broodmare. Graeme was so grateful that he has made a donation to the NZ Horse Ambulance Trust.
If you're keen to support the Trust's work to promote and protect equine welfare - please get on...
