June is Pride month and Migraine and Headache Awareness month. We celebrate Pride and want to highlight migraine disparities for people who identify as LGBTQ+. A recent study found people who are LGBTQ+ are 58% more likely to experience migraine compared to people who identify as heterosexual, and one-third of LGBTQ+ individuals experience migraine. Read more about the study at the link below. The research is limited and we encourage future research to further improve care for everyone who is LGBTQ+. It is important to acknowledge everyone holds different identities, such as gender, gender identity, sexual identity, race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, age, and disability status.
