IMPERFECTIONS | Inside Out 2 •Yes as a 23 year old grown man I took myself over to see this children’s movie because respectfully it’s so much more than that. During my first year studying Psychology I took a class on the Dialogical Self Theory and we studied Inside Out throughout the semester. Like any freshman seminar I took the class hoping just to get an easy A. But it was much more than that! • The theory considers the self not a single entity, but a complex “society of mind” made up of many selves. He calls these I-positions, and they are in constant dialogue. Each I-position contributes its own perspectives, concerns and biases to influence the way we see the world and ourselves in it.
