“Wow you look so good, have you lost weight?”
That seemingly innocent sentence holds so much significance. So many of us were taught that our appearance is the most important thing about us, that losing weight is good and gaining weight is bad, and that our bodies are something to be perfected.
That couldn’t be further from the truth, but we have to be the ones to shift the narrative. We have to be the ones to stop praising others for their body and complimenting their appearance instead of their heart and soul and mind. We have to be the ones to say enough is enough, and stand in the knowingness that we are more than just a body to be looked at.
