Last Sunday, the musical Suffs, a new show about suffragists in the early 20th century, took home Tony Awards for Best Book and Best Original Score. Barnard has its own history of brave young women campaigning for the vote - a history that includes the remarkable Mabel Ping-Hua Lee '16, who, as a high school student recently accepted to the College, rode a white horse through Manhattan, as part of one of the then-largest women's marches in the nation's history. Visit the link in our bio for a #WeekendRead about this amazing alum, who went on to be a staunch advocate for women and the first Chinese woman in the country to earn a Ph.D. in economics. #Barnard #MabelLee #MabelPingHuaLee #Suffs #TonyAwards
