Hello! Meet Leading Senior Constable Anthony Goranitis, better known as ‘Goro’.
After a shift 15 years ago that saw him work general duties in leafy Bairnsdale, in 2020, Goro made an arguably bigger shift to becoming a Prosecutor.
While he thrived on the unpredictable nature of general duties – “You could be chasing a cow off the highway, and then straight onto an aggravated burglary” – he's found the prosecutors’ role a better fit for his current lifestyle, admitting he’s now “too old to jump fences”.
“It’s a very different side of things. I remember being in court, listening to amazing submissions being made a highly skilled solicitor. While the rest of the court attendees found this an incredible bore, I was on the edge of my seat!”
Goro's also embraced his additional role as a Victoria Police LBGTIQA+ Liaison Officer (LLO).
