We always speak about 911 and say, "Let Us Never Forget", but there was a time when many Americans tried to forget about the controversial Vietnam War. 57, 939 members of the U.S. Armed Forces, died or were missing as a result of the Vietnam War, today there are still 1,587 Americans missing and unaccounted for. On Friday 20 September 2019 at 1330, there will be a Wreath Laying and Retreat Ceremony at the River Rats Memorial, Officer's Club Plaza. In past years, only two people have shown up for this event, the same two Vietnam veterans that come every year. Let us not forget their sacrifice. We haven't forgotten.
