Today and everyday we celebrate our indigenous communities locally and beyond. 🧡 Downtown Tempe Authority recognizes and honors our district as part of a long and rich history for the O'Odham (Pima) and Piipaash peoples. The land where we celebrate, live, and work belongs to those tribes who have long honored and lived in this place. Depicted: Tohono O'Odham basket weaving. Tohono O'odham (People of the Desert) gather Sonoran Desert plant materials by hand to weave baskets in the traditional way.
