We're honored to highlight Freedom Summer leader Robert Moses, a key SNCClegacy activist who launched a voter registration drive in Mississippi in 1961 and kickstarted the Freedom Summer in 1964. Moses believed that bringing white students from the North to join Black activists in Mississippi would force the country to pay attention to the state's brutal suppression of Black voters.
