This week's featured hero is John Robert Newcomb!🍋 John Robert was born with a heart of gold. He’s a big fan of superheroes, dinosaurs, animals and plays with Hot Wheels in his free time. At 2 years old, John Robert was rushed to the nearest children’s hospital in Texas, where a nine-centimeter tumor appeared on an ultrasound, engulfing his left kidney. There were more tests, and he was diagnosed with a stage III Wilms tumor. John Robert bravely went through a kidney removal surgery, port insertion, 15 rounds of chemotherapy, and six rounds of radiation. As of January 18, 2019, John Robert has no evidence left of the disease! He is now a happy and healthy 8-year-old. #CancerSurvivorMonth Read more about his story on our websites homepage!
