𝗗-𝗗𝗮𝘆 🇺🇸 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝟲, 𝟭𝟵𝟰𝟰 This scene in savingpfcryan changed my whole outlook on not only film but life. It was one of the first experiences that I can recall, where I became super immersed and emotionally invested in a movie, and where I sought to learn more after it was over. It was unlike anything I had ever seen, and to this day, is still one of my favorite scenes of all time. I also remember hearing that Spielberg and Kaminski modeled the look of the film on newsreel footage. They converted modern lenses (panavisionofficial super speed zeisscameralenses ) to capture footage more like cameras from the 1940s and modeled the bleached-out look of the D-Day scene based on the photos captured by #robertcapa at Omaha Beach in Normandy. He captured all of it on two Contax II cameras mounted with 50mm lenses and a few rolls of film. This entire thought process and decision making is pure mastery of craft.
