Last night’s Canada Soccer 4-1 win over Panama does not just keep their Qatar hopes alive, it’s perhaps gotten them closer a World Cup tournament than ever before —and in incredible fashion. Tajon Buchanan, Jonathan David, Alphonso Davies, the three were simply unstoppable last night. Davies’ goal though, is perhaps what many of us will remember as the highlight of the night. He made an incredible effort to recover a ball that was given for dead near the halfway line, and carried it all the way to the net for what would be Canada’s decisive 2-1 goal. It’s almost poetic. An on-field reminder that you should never count this team out of this octagonal.
