Throwback: Los Blancos vs Gunners. One year ago today, @realmadrid and @arsenal visited Washington D.C. in one of their stops for the @internationalchampionscup (ICC). Drawing a crowd of over 52,000 people, both sides played to a thrilling 2-2 draw that was eventually decided by a penalty shootout. Real Madrid ended up coming out on top 3-2 in penalties, and their American supporters -- who had come out in droves to FedEx Field -- were able to celebrate ecstatically. While the ICC won’t be taking place this year, it’s important to look back at its significance for soccer fans in the United States and around the world.
