In the last four years, the Sounders have reached MLS Cup on three separate occasions, lifting the trophy twice. In 2016, the Sounders edged Toronto FC in a nail-biting penalty shootout to capture their first championship. Last year, the Seattle Sounders went on an incredible playoff run to win their second MLS Cup trophy, even defeating the record-breaking Supporters' Shield champions LAFC with a masterful performance in the Western Conference Final.
