Next up on our testing week was the countermovement jump.
Our basic KPIs are jump height as well as L/R Average Braking Force.
Analyzing the difference between the braking force on both limbs allows us to see which limb is producing more force at the “beginning” of the jump (braking essentially is finishing the load of the jump and transitioning into the concentric portion of the movement).
This is a great metric to track for athletes that are injured and beginning their return to play process/clearance.
Jump height is an obvious metric to see progress throughout the semester.
Another big KPI I look at is Peak Propulsive Force.
This can be used in conjunction with our IMTP testing and Peak Force to determine each athlete’s Dynamic strength Index (DSI).
DSI and various quadrant graphs allow us to identify athletes strengths and weaknesses, allowing for a better, individualized approach.
