Sometimes you can apply one skill set to another situation. Mostly equilibrium the patients bite occurs when they have had years of dentistry or changes in their dentition that requires it to be adjusted for a more harmonious bite. Sometimes it’s because you just placed a whole bunch of fillings and now the bite is off but which of the multiple fillings caused it? Are they hitting and sliding? Using a leaf gauge to open the patient past the interference and then slowly lowering them down is a more controlled way of adjusting the bite than just getting the patient to chomp down on articulating paper and grinding away until you can’t see blue anymore.
