Last weekend, we caught up with star forward Mikayla Dayes from the University of Maryland. @__mikayladayes outlined her experience playing for the Canadian Youth National Team and gave us insight into her college soccer career. At the end of the interview, Dayes told us about her team’s aspirations down the final stretch of the season: “I would love for us to make the Big Ten Tournament. We just have to win 2 out of our last 3 games to qualify. That's our main goal right now. We are playing Purdue, Michigan, and Michigan State, and we have never made the tournament before.” After defeating Michigan on Thursday, Dayes and the UMD Women’s Soccer Team clinched a spot in the Big Ten Tournament for the first time in history. Now in uncharted territory, Dayes and her teammates have a shot at attaining a national championship if they win the Big Ten Tournament.
