In the first game of the 2020 MLS season, D.C. United fell to the Colorado Rapids at home by a score of 2-1. Russell Canouse opened the score for D.C. United with header off of a well-executed corner in the 60th minute. The lead would not last, though, as the Rapids were able to turn the score around thanks to goals by Kei Kamara and Jonathan Lewis to stun the Black-and-Red on their home opener. Julian Gressel and Edison Flores both made their official MLS debuts with United and connected well on several occasions. Flores found the back of the net in the first half after receiving an inch-perfect cross from Gressel. Unfortunately for Flores -- and the legion of Peruvian fans who showed up to Audi Field -- the goal was disallowed for offside. Next week, D.C. United will face Inter Miami at home, and they will look to bounce back from the tough defeat they suffered today. #clubeleven #dcunited #edisonflores #gressel #mls25 #mls
