This month, we're highlighting our oral history collection, where the voices of Italian-American immigrants come to life. In 1920, Italian immigrant Anthony LoPresti opened LoPresti’s Meat Market and Italian Grocery in Baltimore, MD, pictured here. Joseph LoPresti, his son, describes his upbringing as a first-generation American, life during unionization, and his service in World War II, while his wife Gemma Pompa discusses life in the US during wartime.
