KaLa turned lunchtime conversations with her friends into social change by creating a Social Justice Club at her high school to address current issues and promote activism through student-led projects. “There is no question that the urgency for social justice and activism is a prominent feature among Gen Z,” KaLa shared. “As a result, many have turned to activism on social media and in their communities.” KaLa and her friends partnered with 12 local and national organizations to complete 14 projects in the first two years, tackling key issues like racial equality and advocacy for the LGBTQ+ community. 🌟 Way to lift others by lifting your voice, KaLa! 💚 #GSChangeTheWorld #DayOfTheGirl #IDG2021
