#OnThisDay in 1920, the 19th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution was ratified, granting women the right to vote.
This photograph, from the H. Furlong Baldwin Library collections, depicts the women of the “Just Government League of Maryland” marching for their right to vote. The image, captured between 1912 and 1914, several years before the amendment, highlights the extensive struggle for women's rights in America.
