Ellicott City is a beloved town for many Marylanders. To commemorate its 250th birthday as the nation’s first factory town this year, a new exhibition at MCHC recognizes Ellicott City’s rich and enduring history. In "Resilient: 250 Years of Ellicott City," photographs, drawings, paintings, early maps, and objects from MCHC’s collection tell the story of Ellicott City’s evolution as an industrial town and its remarkable resilience withstanding floods and fires over two and a half centuries. "Resilient" is now on view through March 2023 in the H. Furlong Baldwin Library’s niche gallery, and complements a year-long schedule of events organized by ellicottcity250. Learn more at EC250.org.
