Happy birthday to American writer and poet Edgar Allan Poe, who lived and wrote in Baltimore. Regarded as the architect of the modern short story, Poe is remembered for his talent for language and writing technique, as well as his raw subject matter dealing in horror and detective work. “The Raven” is credited with being his most popular piece.
