Tonight, with the Baltimore Ravens playing the Indianapolis Colts at M&T Bank Stadium, we are sharing a collection item that speaks to the history between the two teams. This is a restroom door from former Baltimore Colts quarterback Johnny Unitas’s restaurant, The Golden Arm. Unitas named the men’s bathroom the “Bob Irsay Room” after the Baltimore Colts owner who moved the team to Indianapolis in the middle of the night without any prior public announcement in March 1984. The door reflected many Baltimoreans’ negative sentiments towards the man who took their beloved football team away from them.
