#DidYouKnow two family-run theaters were located on the same block in Baltimore's Hampden neighborhood for over 50 years? Located at 905 and 911 West 36th Street, the Ideal and the Hampden often worked together to offer the community a variety of films. They were both remodeled in 1926 but ultimately closed in 1963 and 1976, respectively.
Next time you’re walking down The Avenue in Hampden, imagine you are heading to one of these theaters. What movie are you going to see?
