Last call for applications! Participate in the Summer Teacher Institute, “Slavery, Freedom and Memory in Maryland," with the Maryland Center for History and Culture. This full week professional development will be live and in-person, in partnership with the University of Maryland History Department. The Institute is FREE for all, and participants will receive two continuing education credits from the Maryland State Department of Education upon completion of the course. Participants will explore topics including the freedom, citizenship, and memory of African American Marylanders during the antebellum, Civil War, and Reconstruction periods. Educators will also enjoy field trips, create resources to bring back to their classrooms, and have extensive access to primary source collections from the H. Furlong Baldwin Library.
