The Maryland Center for History and Culture is proud to support National History Day, and the wonderful students who show their research and discovery skills with their projects! MCHC sponsors the award for excellence in Maryland History, given to two individual or group participants. This year we congratulate the winners in both the junior and senior categories:
-- Natalie Castonguay of West Middle School in Carroll County, for her fascinating individual website “Union Mills Homestead Rural Free Delivery.” Thanks to her teacher, Stacey Gruber, as well. Natalie is pictured here next to the historic marker in Westminster.
-- Gabriella Mills and Natalie Smith of Broadneck High School in Anne Arundel County, for their amazing group website, “A Passage to Freedom: The Underground Railroad.” Also thanks to their teacher Brian Hussey.
