In 1960, Mr. L. Edward Elliott (1889-1974) traveled by plane, car, bus, and boat across the United States to be the first person to fly the 50-star flag at all four US territorial extremes. Quite the extreme feat! In Monday's Flag Trivia question, we asked you to guess the states, or better yet, the four points, where the flag flew. Today we have the answer: Most Northern = Point Barrow, Alaska; Most Eastern = Lubec, Maine; Most Southern = Kalae / South Point, Hawaii; Most Western = Attu Island, Alaska! Learn more about our new project to conserve our flag collection by clicking on "Maryland Day of Giving Challenge" in our bio. If you like our trivia questions, register for our upcoming free Virtual Trivia: Maryland Day Edition, on March 25, 4-5 pm, by clicking on "Program Calendar" in our bio.
