A grease fire that engulfed a food manufacturer in North Portland sent smoke billowing above Interstate 5 just in time for the Monday evening commute. Portland Fire & Rescue crews were still battling for control over the second-alarm blaze at Shin Shin Foods, 400 N. Thompson St., as of 6 p.m. Workers at the factory reported a grease fire that quickly spread throughout the building by the time fire crews arrived, said Fire Bureau spokesperson Rick Graves.
