#Swarthmore - 4 years ago I pulled some strings at the last minute to get a place in a field chasing the Olympic standard. My personal best was 3:42 and I was hoping to get in line and knock a few seconds off that to qualify for the Olympic trials. willisnick rabbited the field through 1300m and I was sitting way off pace. But as the tempo picked up, so did I. With 150m to go I realized there was still life in my legs. When the clock read '3:35.59' I couldn't believe it. I wasn't supposed to run that fast, but I did. Since that race, my career has had a lot of ups and downs. I have run faster, but I've also run slower. But that race told me I have potential that I still have left to fill. Hoping to make other tracks look short soon. #Goodluck to those racing there tonight! It's amazing what's possible when races are well-rabbited. As I've heard Nick say many times, the best rabbits should wind up a field to their fastest before stepping off. Photo: tonydes822 #LookAtThatHandshake
