Kaidy Cornell ‘19 graduated from colsa.unh with a bachelor’s in nutrition and dietetics. Now, she’s the director of sports nutrition for unhwildcats where she is responsible for some 500 student-athletes.
In her role, she helps our student-athletes reach their peak performance while maintaining healthy routines and habits. “There’s usually very little sports nutrition at the high school level, so some student-athletes come to college with a mindset of limiting what they eat, not realizing how much energy or what types of energy they really need to be consuming,” she says.
Kaidy believes that her full-time role in UNH Athletics is a sign that nutrition education is increasingly important to college athletics programs, much the same as the rising prominence of sports psychology and mental health support.
