D47 INSIDER: This week, we visited Bernotas Middle School to see what students and staff were up to! In 6th grade social studies, students are learning about ancient Greece and worked on creating podcasts about who had the better government, the Athens or the Spartans. In STEM, some 7th graders were building roller coasters, and others were designing buildings using an online simulation. During 6th grade social science, students were studying Geology and sorted rocks by texture and type. We also visited 7th graders during Health class, where they were discussing screen time and brain development. We smelled something delicious down the hall, so we met up with students in FACS who were making chocolate chip cookies! We ended the day with North third graders who paid a visit to Bernotas to watch the dress rehearsal for Bernotas' spring play, the Wizard of Oz.
