Rory’s legwork is quite possibly one of the reasons he’s one of the most athletic, powerful players out there.
You will see how in his backswing, his knees are changing flex. His left leg flexing and his right leg extending. This helps a few key things
🔑 rotation of the hips in the backswing
🔑 helps him to turn on a tilted axis
🔑 injury prevention
🔑 allows him to reflex into the downswing and push off hard into impact
The reflexing of the knees helps him pressure the floor and push off creating lots of vertical force. The leg work is important for pushing off.
For example, Have you tried to jump in the air starting with straight legs? Try it and see how high you can jump. You need to bend your legs to jump up. These are just a few noticeable things.
