Not sure what his reasons for the drill are but whatever he’s doing seems to be working The benefits I see of the drill is that it really tests your ability to slam on the brakes or decelerate. You can only swing something as fast as you can slow something down - post impact you’ll feel your barrel (core) firing in order to slow the club down and reverse directions. The left handed follow through adds an element of coordination to an already difficult drill. I’m into it.
