Here is a snippet from a recent online lesson via the skillestapp with a very talented golfer playing off of 0.9.
This golfer struggles with an occasional hook shot and struggles to fade the golf ball. Long irons are also a weakness, hitting the ground too early and causing strike issues.
From this information you can gather that the golfer is swinging too much from the inside with a club face that is closed and/or closing quickly to cause the hook, and there is something that puts the club into the ground too early.
The root cause here was that the golfer was balanced too much on his toes at address, preventing him being able to load into the right hip at the top of the swing, causing the pelvis to shift a long way left in the backswing to create a turn.
From here the golfer then would move the pelvis laterally towards the target, getting way too far ahead of the ball causing the upper body to tilt back, moving the club in a direction that it would swing too far to the right a...
