# 2 GAME OF THE 2018 SEASON: WEEK 8 VS WISCONSIN - There was a lot of hype heading into this matchup, as Northwestern was seeking an upset in Evanston against a familiar foe, Wisconsin, ranked # 20 at the time. It would also be a major win to put us in serious contention for the Big Ten West. We were 10+ point underdogs coming into the game after barely winning against a 0-6 Nebraska and 1-6 Rutgers. However once the game was underway, we were back to looking like the Michigan State game Northwestern squad. Thorson had a very solid game, throwing for 167 yds and a touchdown as well as 2 rushing TDs. Isaiah Bowser had a nice game too, rushing for 117 yds and a one touchdown. The defense showed up, too. While they may have only had one sack, the rushing D held the number THREE rated cfb player in the country (according to Athlon Sports), Jonathan Taylor to under 50 YDS rushing and TWO forced fumbles.
