NORTHWESTERN PICKS UP ANOTHER WIN ON THE ROAD!!! It was another conference win which makes us 4-1 in conference play. The game didn’t look so great for us, as we fell 12-7 to Rutgers at the half. We eventually pulled through, however, and won 18-15. I think the biggest factor to look at in today’s win is our running game. It was the first game since the loss of Larkin where it seemed our rush game had it figured out and the answer seemed to be freshman RB Isaiah Bowser. He rushed for 2 TDs today and 108 yards. We also saw freshman Drake Anderson and senior Chad Hanaoka rush for a combined 50 yards. Clearly, we saw some great improvement from that area today. Thorson and our receivers had flashes of good moments, but there were also a lot of times where our passing game just looked lost. They were nowhere near as productive as they’ve been in past weeks, which is a bit concerning considering we played Rutgers.
