Friends can be there for you in the worst of times by providing a shoulder to lean on, an ear to listen, and laughter in the face of uncertainty. But, friendships can also turn toxic, and toxic friendships can be especially detrimental to your mental health if you are already struggling.
So, it is important to take stock of your friendships and recognize those that are genuine. Are your friends loyal, empathetic and honest? Do they encourage you to grow and express your feelings? If not, you may want to reassess your relationships. Who you surround yourself can impact nearly every aspect of your life.
Always remember, though, that friendship is a two-way street! Be the friend you wish for and you will attract some amazing friendships.
